Day 11: Sight Lines

See only half of what you need to.

You know how we have a sixth sense on everything around us, well this a blessing and a curse. From a blessing point, we are able to detect things that most human beings are not aware of. We can hear when a child is going to attempt to do something they shouldn’t be doing or when a child is getting sick and we can see it in their face before it happens. The curse in this superpower is that we worry about things that we shouldn’t and it causes more anxiety for us. We should keep our eye 👁 on the important things and relax ourselves when the kids want to be kids. I am not saying just be oblivious to dangerous situations but to allow kids to make mistakes doing something and not hover over them too much. Leave room for growth. Know that what you have taught them, they have absorbed and will use good judgement. Be there when they cry to wipe the tears, bandage their cut knee but when they get older, let them come to you when they are ready. They will love 💗 you no matter what.

Hope this helps 🙂
