Isn’t It Time You Wrote That Book? T.E. Williams

In this blog post, I have the pleasure of introducing a lady named Trisha Williams. She has an established and successful Editing and Consulting Services business to help writers get their ideas out of their heads and on paper. She is also a very talented author and writer of now over 10+ books that she has self published. Below are some of the works she has edited or consulted on by authors.

I have been taking up reading in the last couple months and I have purchased 3 of her many classics…

1. You’re Not The Boss Of Me-

This book was about a women who loved to please everyone and in the process developed feelings that were not healthy and had to learn some hard lessons and look to higher calling for help. I loved this book because it was relatable and it reminded me of myself at one point in my life. Like her, I wanted to please everyone and found out later that most people you try to please want to keep you that way and want you to never say “no” to them. My health and well-being became more important and saying “No” didnt turn out to be that bad. Women are always working harder then they should, Trisha Williams lets you know that it is not your duty to do it all and stand up for yourself. Please yourself first then everything else comes second. This book took me 2 hours to read and was a definite page turner.

I give this book 5 Crowns!!  👑👑👑👑👑

2. Heart Condition-

This book reminded of a lifetime movie which is great because it is very deep and gets into the roots of how much family can impact the way you live your life. This story was set with 2 sisters who grew up together and had to practically look out for each other. They were lucky enough to have a strong influence in their lives but they grew up finding out the hard truth about the cost of being responsible for one another. When I was reading this, I found some parts harder for me to deal with because the sister relationship hit home for me. I read this book in 2 days but it is definately a page-turner as is the first one.

I gave this book 4 Hearts!! ❤❤❤❤

3. Side Effect-

I just finished this book yesterday and I really liked how the story didnt single anyone out. This story is about a married couple who was to celebrate their 20 year wedding anniversary and leading up to it there were alot of tests given to them and through it they learned many lessons about how the body and mind can be weak. Higher love is the key to overcome all. I have been married 22 years and have seen lots of marriages including my own put the test and some have lasted others unfornately haven’t. I read this book within a week in between everything else and it is a quick read.

I gave this book 5 Diamonds!! 💍💍💍💍💍

I look forward to reading more of her work since we are quarantine right now and traveling is just not an option. If you would like to purchase these books or any of her other creative works, visit her website and click here: Ireesky

52 Week Blog Challenge- Week 14

My Favorite Book……..

Not many people know this about me but I love murder mysteries!! I am a big fan of reading about murders, watching shows about murders and being apart of even fake murder mysteries. I have never been on a murder mystery weekend but someday I hope too. Some of the murder shows you see on television already let you see who the killer is and they spend the hour figuring out why they did it like Columbo, Monk and even Law and Order sometimes. I would rather try and figure out who did it like on Scooby-Doo, CSI and other crime shows like on Lifetime.

Text_Over_Photo1585593068900[1]

Somy favorite book as a child was Poky Little Puppy but as an adult it was a book I read a year ago called “What Happened to Flynn” by Pat Muir

This book was about a missing man named Flynn who the cops could not find a body for and they enlisted the help of an African-American detective who worked day after day to try and solve the case. This book was definitely a page turner and one of the greatest mysteries I’ve read so far. You can purchase this book on Amazon.

That’s all I got for you today. Thank you for reading my blog posts and don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe!!

Book Review #1:Rachel Hollis

Hey hey guys, I am doing something a little bit different these coming months where I am going to introduce you to my world of reading. Now, I will admit, I have not read a book all the way through since 50 Shades of Grey Part 1 came out but I have always wanted to read interesting works by other writers. The book I am going to review this month is a book written by a great women who loves to help other women get out of their way and see what the potential that they already have. Growing from tragedy and being able to be successful in life with some bumps along the way is real-life for her and she wants you to know-ITs Normal! Introducing a lady I highly respect for her courage and empowerment of other: Rachel Hollis

I read this book from cover to cover and was amazed at the similiarities we have. I thought I was the only one thinking and going through it. For those of you who do not know who Rachel Hollis is, she is a Mom of 3 boys and a 1 girl, wife to Dave Hollis and founder of a lifestyle website TheChicSite.com and Ceo of her own Media company. She has alot of followers online via instagram, facebook, youtube etc. She is a woman who likes to tell it like it is, she encourages, enlightens and works to help others acheive the same sense of confidence she exudes throughout everything she does with the help of God.

I am going to review this book in 4 parts:

  • Why did I pick this book to read?
  • What part of the book, really hit home for me: (ex. made me cry or have a aha moment)?
  • What is one thing I took away from the book that I will change in my life?
  • How would I rate this book out of 5 stars?

Rachel Hollis: Girl, Wash Your Face

  • I picked this book because it came highly recommended online. I was curious as to what washing my face meant so I said this might be a great book just by the title, so I bought it. I never realized when I opened it, I would never be able to put it down. It spoke to me so well. Everything, well almost everything, was so similiar to my life I couldn’t believe that this nice young lady had gone through all that and still managed to be a great women waking up everyday helping people with her wisdom and lending a helping hand.
  • A part in the book that really hit home for me was Chapter 15: I Will Never Get Past This- when she talked about her family. Not being as close as she wanted to be after the tragedy just trying to salvage what was left of her relationships and picking up the peices and moving forward in church and counseling, which is always the best medicine. I cried through the whole chapter.
  • One thing she stressed so much in her book about is being happy with who you are. It doesnt matter what you didnt accomplish or who hurt you in your past, you are responsible for your own happiness. Never let others believe you are never good enough to try new things or pick up where you left off with years ago. Always try to be you and be happy for you not anyone else. I realized that in trying to make others happy all at once, I have made myself unhappy. I have decided to run away from toxic or negative things and let others be unhappy by themselves and take care of me first. Be there after I am taken care of then console others.
  • 5- star rating from me for original content, very personable and uplifting!

Looking forward to reading her other book:

Girl, Stop Apoligizing

Ordered my copy from Barnes and Nobles today and will start reading after my 2nd book which is from a new first time author who writes about how the word of God influences your life processes everyday. Click link below to purchase Marcus Myrick’s

Going back to my childhood, I can remember a lot of books but my all-time favorite was…wait for it…

20190808_190707[1]

I still read this book to this day.  This isn’t the original one I had as a child because it got lost. I love the story line about a puppy who doesn’t listen to his mother and goes exploring when he shouldn’t and learns valuable lessons.

As the saying goes: “If mama ain’t happy, no one is happy”

I used to have a wind up doggy that I used to play with with my book.  Needless to say, the book and dog didn’t survive I’m sad to say…but now I have a real dog, his name is Sage.

Image result for maya angelou

My favorite quote comes from one of the most beautiful, smart and talented educator and poets of all time. Maya Angelou believed in being true to yourself and seeing others the same way. She said that people tend to hide behind failures and things that are displeasing but in life she believed success came with growth and learning from what you didn’t succeed in.

Text_Over_Photo1565291848068[1]

If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” -Maya Angelou

I love this quote because it sets the foundation on how people need to live their lives in order to be satisfied with themselves. Most people don’t realize that most of the complaining they do is a waste of fresh air and can be solved by just focusing on something different and changing the circumstances for which they are unhappy with. I think of this quote everyday as a mom and wife who is looking for growth within myself. I know that my happiness is no one’s job, for I am in charge of my own destiny and path along with God and if there is something I do not like I have the power to change it. You also have this ability too. Have you ever wondered why people can solve one problem but not others. Most people are used to being comfortable with what their circumstance is and they are afraid of the unknown or being a different person. Maya Angelou promoted self-growth, change and progress…life goes on.

That’s all I have for today…don’t forget…

Black History Legends….Day 13

“Marriage is one of the “basic civil rights of man,” fundamental to our very existence and survival. … To deny this fundamental freedom on so unsupportable a basis as the racial classifications embodied in these statutes, classifications so directly subversive of the principle of equality at the heart of the Fourteenth Amendment, is surely to deprive all the State’s citizens of liberty without due process of law. The Fourteenth Amendment requires that the freedom of choice to marry not be restricted by invidious racial discrimination. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State.”  (Chief Justice Earl Warren-June 12, 1967)

On April 10, 1967, the case was heard and on June 12, 1967, it was declared that the Pace-v-Alabama of 1883 was unconstitutional, violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th amendment and overruled by ending all illegal restrictions on marriage in all states except Alabama, which later joined after Nixon got involved.
