31 Day Challenge-Day 17

Going back to my childhood, I can remember a lot of books but my all-time favorite was…wait for it…

20190808_190707[1]

I still read this book to this day.  This isn’t the original one I had as a child because it got lost. I love the story line about a puppy who doesn’t listen to his mother and goes exploring when he shouldn’t and learns valuable lessons.

As the saying goes: “If mama ain’t happy, no one is happy”

I used to have a wind up doggy that I used to play with with my book.  Needless to say, the book and dog didn’t survive I’m sad to say…but now I have a real dog, his name is Sage.

Dream job….hmmm…

Image result for free images of psychologist

Helping people with their problems…I know it sounds like a big headache but for me it sounds fun and you get paid for it.

Welcome to the World of Psychology:

Image result for free images of psychology

Definition: The study of behaviors and mental processes in living things that inhabit the world and how they adapt to their environment.

This is actually my dream job.  I wanted to either be a Psychologist or counselor because I am a great listener and am very fascinated with how the brain works.  I am always analyzing everything to death and because people feel comfortable around me…it sounds like a great fit for me.

Unfortunately,  most Psychologist have to go to school forever and school loans are up in the 100k, so I had to come up with a more achievable goal and cost effective way to make a living.

  • Sweat through my clothes and get to the point where the 3 pm slump happens…I’m tired.
  • I wrap up my last clients up around 5 or 6 pm
  • Call my husband when I am on my way home

I never did get to where I wanted to be, but I learned that you have to love what you do in order to be happy. God had other plans for me.

  • Wash up and proceed to open the curtains for sunshine
  • Wash the dishes
  • Eat breakfast

  • Eat my lunch through blogging hours
  • On Tuesdays, 5$ movie days we will see a movie if interested

My favorite quote by Maya Angelou

So, as you can see, a big difference in my life this past 8 months since I retired.  I love the freedom of coming and going as I please and having a great support system in my family.  I knew I had to make a change because I wasn’t happy making others dreams come true.

That’s all I got for you until tomorrow …stay tuned for Day 16 and don’t forget to:

31 Day Challenge-Day 13

My favorite quote comes from one of the most beautiful, smart and talented educator and poets of all time.  Maya Angelou believed in being true to yourself and seeing others the same way.  She said that people tend to hide behind failures and things that are displeasing but in life she believed success came with growth and learning from what you didn’t succeed in.

Text_Over_Photo1565291848068[1]

“If you don’t like something, change it.  If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”  -Maya Angelou

I love this quote because it sets the foundation on how people need to live their lives in order to be satisfied with themselves.  Most people don’t realize that most of the complaining they do is a waste of fresh air and can be solved by just focusing on something different and changing the circumstances for which they are unhappy with.  I think of this quote everyday as a mom and wife who is looking for growth within myself.  I know that my happiness is no one’s job, for I am in charge of my own destiny and path along with God and if there is something I do not like I have the power to change it. You also have this ability too.  Have you ever wondered why people can solve one problem but not others.  Most people are used to being comfortable with what their circumstance is and they are afraid of the unknown or being a different person.  Maya Angelou promoted self-growth, change and progress…life goes on.

31 Day Challenge-Day 12

Text_Over_Photo1565280605371[1]

People are always saying, ” If I won the lottery, I would quit my job, buy myself a mansion, boat and anything I have ever wanted.”  I hear this and I keep looking at the people that are millionaires according to the television and I wonder why is it they are so unhappy with having so much money and time on their hands.  Why are they killing themselves or going bankrupt after working so hard…I figured it out…it’s not money that will set you free, it is the love you have for yourself and others not the coins you have in the bank and life you live.  I took Psychology in school and it is a known fact that most people want to be able to never have to worry about anything in their life, but it will never happen.  Having money in the bank helps one problem but what about health and everyday feeling and emotions…you can’t buy that.  The more you have, the more you want, it never is satisfied.

Related image

For me, the lottery is another way for the world to create one more problem for people who have addictions, those that dream of winning and never do, or taking hard working people’s money away that they probably needed to pay their rent with.  I am okay with people every once in awhile having a little fun together buying a ticket or betting on games but when it disturbs the economic structure of us putting food on the table, it is a problem.

Don’t get me wrong, I have played before but I don’t take food out of my kids mouths or declare myself homeless just to get to misery.  If you think about it, everyone you know is going to know you won it and that is when the problems beginning.  I would rather have a smile on my face everyday and live my life then have to worry about people coming after me.  I think if we are going to continue to play, let’s play for a better cause like free health care for everyone or allowing everyone a free college education.

So, with saying all that, if I won the lottery, I am retired so I don’t have to quit my job.  Probably make sure my kids education was fully paid, & the house is paid in full.  All the debt we have is taken care of.  I always wanted an RV so I would get one to enjoy family road trips.  The rest of the money would be used as needed.  I don’t believe in asking for more than I have because I am happy just the same.  We as people have to realize that what we have is a blessing and it was meant for us to have, what we do with it is up to us….it sets the tone for whether we are happy or miserable for our one life to live.

31 Day Challenge-Day 11

Text_Over_Photo1565280507970[1]

Okay so…day 11, what is my most proudest moment?  Now most would say that a mother of three kids would say that is my most proudest moment or going back to school and getting a degree was.  Although it was a wonderful gift and my greatest accomplishment all four times..I am going to tell you about a personal moment I had with myself.

Image result for free images of retailImage result for free images of pepsi

So, my story started 25 years ago when I entered into the the workforce as a Retail and Sales Associate.  I have worked for Boston Market, Marc’s Deeper Discount, Revco aka CVS Pharmacy part-time.  My first full-time position was with Pepsi Beverages Company.  After working so many part-time jobs for over 20 years, it was very hard for me to transition to 40 hours a week.  I had to make this transition from being a part-time worker/full-time housewife and mother to a full-time working gal to support my family.  My husband became disabled 8 years ago and was forced to stop working.  I stepped up.

working momscropped-cropped-cropped-20180617_1425492.jpg

So I worked 40, 50, 60 and sometimes 70 hours a week to keep a roof over our heads, the lights on, food in our belly and still be able to save money on the side for emergency.  I did this for 4 years straight all while going to school to get my business degree. One day we decided it was time to take that next step……

20190808_133708[1]

I bought us a home!!

When we received the keys to our very own home after renting for so long…I cried..it was my proudest moment!! Most people wait a life time to own their very own home long ago but to know that I was able to get this house after so much time, I couldn’t believe it.  I was 38 years old and indeed very proud of taking care of my family. We have now been in Lakeland Florida for 4 years, I am now retired and am loving every minute of it!!

31 Day Challenge Day 10

Text_Over_Photo1564574980833[1]

First Celebrity crush….really has changed over the years with all the new actors making their way to television and radio. I didn’t have any celebrity crushes as a child…I know that sounds weird but for some reason no one person gave me that spark. I got older and then that is when I started watching movies and I got my list.

And here it is…..

IMG_20190804_020222[1]

Oohh…lala…My list starts from left to right with Johnny Depp, I fell in love with him in Pirates in the Caribbean.  Next up, Terrence Howard, I fell for his spunk in Best Man.  Mr. Ray Liotta an Irishmen, Italian and gangster in of my favorite movies GoodFellas, he was gorgeous.  Last but not least, Superman himself, Dean Cain, I loved him as Clark/Superman and also in the movie Out of Time with Denzel Washington.

As much as I loved all these guys then, right now I’ve got my eye on only one crush

Robert Downey Jr.

IMG_20190804_020234[1]

Fell for him while he was doing Iron-man and then he kept going with the Avengers.

Next up is Celebrity girl crushes…

IMG_20190804_020249[1]

Jillian Michaels – I idolize her for her strength and courage.  She represents a women who has proven through it all that women can overcome how they feel about themselves and how the world judges them based on their looks and sexuality.

Michelle Rodriguez I have admired her since the Fast and Furious.  She is a bad ass on screen and a soft feminine energy off-screen with a caring spirit.

Both ladies are beautiful and sexy in their own unique way.

Sorry, I didn’t have any singer celebrity crushes……the 90’s were a very confusing time..lol.

Well that’s all I got for now….

31 Day Challenge-Day 8

Text_Over_Photo1564574850651[1]

Okay, so today marks the 8th day of my challenge and I had to dig deep to find photos of my younger self.  Luckily, my dad had some and I was able to retrieve them…so here it goes.

So, this is me when I was a baby in 1977 up to 1 years old. My parents had Polaroid cameras and a video camera.  Ain’t I cute? Of course, I could never figure out the expression on my face.  I am not smiling at all except in my baby picture.

This was Christmas Day 1979, I got my first Tea Party set.  I think it was a present for my birthday too since it was on the 31st of December. I loved that Tea Party set.

Teen years, very awkward stage for me…probably for everyone, though.  I had long hair, was very skinny and loved scrunchies!!

Graduation Day 1996!! I had my whole family there, it was such a great day for me.  I was so glad school was over.  I didn’t go to college right after to become a teacher which is what I wanted to be but I did attend college later on in life while working a full-time job in 2015 and graduated with a degree in Business Management at 35 years old.

And me now….in the present. That’s all I got for you.  Hope you enjoyed going down memory lane with me, don’t forget:

31 Day Challenge-Day 4

Text_Over_Photo1564574418696[1]

This one took a minute for me to remember…as you get older it gets harder.  So from what I can remember or the first thing to come to mind was when I was maybe 9 or 10….

When I was in the 4th grade, everyone had to dress up for Halloween and back then everyone would make their own costumes or buy them if they were lazy.  I told my mother I wanted to be an Indian girl and she made it happen. She used these four items:

That was all she needed to turn this into this……

Image result for free clipart images of a girl dressed as an indian

The feather wasn’t that long but this was kinda how I remembered my costume.  I loved it..it was so creative.  I made a necklace of cheerios to go with the outfit and it lasted all day long.

Hey hey, its Day 3, its time to go back, way back, back in time to September 2018.  How did MMMoffamilyentertainment get its name?  Well, here it goes….

I always wanted to start a blog and just didn’t know how.  I researched and found WordPress which is phenomenal.  Next, I had to come up with a name.  I thought about the things I love which were my family, music, movies and anything that is fun.  When I started my blog, it was just about my family, musical concerts I attended and movies I recommend but then it occurred to me that I needed to broaden my audience a bit.  The rise of entrepreneurship inspired me to have a section for businesses to get their products out there. After doing that, I got an idea to feature inspirational people and then it grew from there.  So, the MMM that you hear is Music, Movies, and most of all Madness.  And for the other part, I am all about Entertainment!!  This is how MMMoffamilyentertainment was born.
